Cosplay Guests of Honor at Autumn MondoCon 2026

This autumn, MondoCon welcomes three internationally renowned cosplay guests from across Europe!

Joining us in Budapest are Stylouz Cosplay from Switzerland, Maike Huster from Germany, and Captain Ghostly from Belgium. From costume and prop making to innovative crafting techniques, SFX, stunt work and filmmaking, each of them brings a different side of cosplay and years of international experience to MondoCon.

Meet our Cosplay Guests of Honor below and discover their work, achievements and creative journeys.

Stylouz Cosplay from Switzerland

Stylouz is an acclaimed Swiss cosplayer and cosplay judge who launched his career in 2009. Specializing in costume design, armour fabrication, and SFX makeup, he has won numerous international prizes and awards. He represented Switzerland twice as a solo finalist at the European Cosplay Gathering (ECG) in Paris in 2012 and 2015, ultimately earning the title of Vice-European Champion for his portrayal of Rinzler from Tron: Legacy.

In 2017, his Hanzo Shimada costume from Overwatch propelled his career forward and thrust him into the social media spotlight. This success led to a collaboration with Activision Blizzard for the launch of Heroes of the Storm and, later, the trailer for Overwatch 2.

In 2020, Stylouz was cast in a supporting role as the main character, V, in the short film Cyberpunk 2077: Phoenix Program (listed on IMDb). The film was directed and produced by Vi-Dan Tran, whose credits include Marvel’s Shang-Chi, Dune (2021) etc. This experience caught the attention of renowned German director Specter Berlin in 2021, who featured Stylouz in a series of futuristic music videos for German rap star Olexesh in Berlin.

Between 2022 and 2025, he embarked on high-profile collaborations with major brands like Sunrise Telecom and Red Bull in Paris, participating in multiple spectacular promotional events such as the Cyberpunk 2077 Night alongside CD Projekt Red (creators of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077), and joining forces with Konami to celebrate the launch of the legendary Castlevania: Dominus collection as Vlad Tepes III Character.

Most recently, Stylouz successfully transitioned from costume crafting into professional live-action acting, stunt work, and executive producing. This evolution culminated in Assassin’s Creed: Echoes of the Creed (2026), a highly anticipated cinematic tribute project (listed on IMDb) for which he served as project lead, executive producer and lead actor. Portraying an aging Ezio Auditore, he helmed a massive production effort that involved extensive stunt coordination and multiple filming units. Following the completion of principal photography in December 2025 at the historic Château d’Aigle in Switzerland, the final film officially released in July 2026 to widespread critical acclaim across the gaming and entertainment industries. For the Gamescom 2026 first presentation of SAW: Genesis, Stylouz was casted as main character to took on the prominent role of “The Doctor” to bring the game’s central antagonist to life for the game presentation in collaboration with Lionsgate and the Game publisher Blooper Team SA during an immersive horror experience.

Maike Huster from Germany

Maike Huster is a German cosplayer and maker who has been bringing characters to life since 2018. Her work focuses on creating detailed armor, props and costumes while constantly experimenting with new materials and techniques from foam crafting, molding and casting to 3D modeling, 3D printing, LEDs and even moving mechanisms.

For Maike, cosplay is all about turning ideas into something real and showing that even complex projects become possible when you simply start creating and learning along the way.

Her work has taken her around the world, from international conventions to cosplay competitions and jury appearances in Europe, the USA and Japan. She loves sharing the knowledge she has gained over the years and inspiring other creators to experiment, learn new skills and create something of their own.

Captain Ghostly from Belgium

Meet Captainghostly, an international cosplayer and prop maker based in Belgium. He is an enthusiastic explorer of novel materials, techniques and approaches to elevate his creations. Following on that, he introduced several new materials in the cosplay world together with Cosplayshop.be where he is a manager. CaptainGhostly loves giving workshops filled with practical tips and tricks to help others learn and grow in their own crafting journeys.

Captainghostly has had the privilege of guesting all around the world and judged international cosplay finals. His work has even been featured in the “cool japan” exhibition at one of Belgium’s largest museums and starred in the series called “Alter Egos” together with others like Adam Savage.

His ultimate goal is to use his presence to inspire others, sharing knowledge and being a positive influence in the community.

Who-ya Anime Song Concert

Have you heard the second opening theme of Jujutsu Kaisen, VIVID VICE, or the opening themes of Psycho-Pass 3, Q-vism and Synthetic Sympathy? If so, then you’ve definitely heard the voice of Who-ya, who will be performing a full concert on Saturday at MondoCon Autumn 2026!

Who-ya began his musical career in 2019, performing mainly rock and pop rock. Who-ya Extended is actually a music project rather than a single artist, with Who-ya serving as its vocalist. He was only 20 years old when the project made its debut. While the supporting members may change from song to song, several core members remain constant. Their debut track also became the opening theme for Psycho-Pass 3.

At MondoCon, we’ll be welcoming Who-ya himself. His musical style has been heavily influenced by Linkin Park’s late vocalist, Chester Bennington, who inspired him to pursue a career in music.

Horror Music Quiz

Love playing the anime music quiz but never felt like you’ve seen enough shows? Are you really into creepy stories? Now is your chance!

The format is the same as always: you have to guess the song from 20-25 second snippets and choose the correct movie/series/game title from 4 options.

All you need to play is a phone with mobile internet to join the quiz. The three players with the highest scores will win prizes!

As the theme of the quiz is a little irregular we have decided to announce the categories beforehand:

  • Western made live action (5 questions)
  • Video games (5 questions)
  • Anime (10 questions)
  • Visual novels (5 questions)
  • Asian made live action (5 questions)
  • Bonus round (1 question, surprise)

Karaoke Competition

We all love humming the tunes of our favourite anime openings, but singing in karaoke rooms with friends or classmates is one of the most well known after school/work activities in Japan. One can explore this tradition any time at MondoCon’s karaoke room, but during the karaoke contest you also get the chance to compare your skills with other singers. Make friends, focus on having fun, enjoy some good music and let’s create a great atmosphere together!

The competition will only be held if at least 6 people register. Over 12 entries we will separate applicants into Beginner and Intermediate categories. Only solo applications are accepted. As this time the karaoke contest will also be judged by the Embassy of Japan in Hungary, contest songs must be in Japanese.

Requirements and conditions

a) Registration for the competition is by pre-registration.

The registration period is from August 7 (Friday) to September 6 (Sunday). Please select a song from the contest song list below and record yourself singing it in full. When filling out the registration form on the Mondo website you will need to upload this recording, as well.

b) The song must have an official Japanese version and the lyrics must be at least 51% Japanese. (eg. Life is Like a Boat from Bleach is not eligible because there are more English lyrics in it than Japanese.) You can access the list of eligible songs here:

Competition song list

You can only choose a song for the tournament from this list. You will have to sing a full length song in its original language.

Please note that the competition song list is not the same as the one we have for free karaoke.

You will be able to change your chosen song until the end of the registration period, but please keep in mind that you will have to upload a recording of that, too. In case of any issues with your registration the organizers will contact you via the e-mail you provided.

c) This competition consists of 2 rounds:

Round 1: Preliminary round. You have to choose a song from the list above and sign up using the link provided. (Please do not use any slurs or swear words as your nickname as your application will be rejected.) During registration you will also have to upload your recording of the contest song.

! Your recording should include the instrumental base as well, not only the vocals that you have sung. Upload it in MP3 format and name the file with your civilian name.

After the registration period has closed, based on the jury’s assessment, applicants will be assigned to Beginner or Intermediate category. Only the 20 best entries can make it to the second round.

We will publish the names of those who will be placed in each category by October 4 at the latest. If you wish to cancel your application please let us know as soon as possible.

The MondoCon rounds will be as follows:

Round 2a: Beginner category. Time and place: 11:30, October 18 (Sunday), karaoke room.

Round 2b: Advanced category. Time and place: 14:00, October 18 (Sunday), MondoCon main stage.

The original vocals will not be playing during your performance, but you will be able to see the lyrics on a TV screen.
The starting order is revealed before the competition at the venue. Anyone who does not appear on stage after being called by the presenter will unfortunately be disqualified from the competition.

Points will be given based on the following:

  • singing technique
  • precision (rhythm, pitch, lyrics)
  • pronunciation
  • stage presence (choreography, confidence, vibe, etc.)

In both categories, the 3 best contestants will receive a prize. The Embassy of Japan in Hungary will award one person based on their own criteria.

Candidates may be disqualified for the following reasons:

  • choosing a song with no karaoke/instrumental/off vocal version that’s approved by the organisers; (hence the list)
  • choosing a song that is not an official Japanese version;
  • having not uploaded a sound recording by the deadline or having digitally enhanced the recording (this does not apply to basic editing, mixing and volume adjustment, of course).
  • you may not enter the competition if you are a professional singer, part of the karaoke staff at MondoCon, or will appear as part of a singing-focused programme at the current convention (eg. doing a mini-concert).
