What is karuta? Come discover and try one of Japan’s traditional games, a true peak of reflex and memory games! It is an art intertwined with haiku, based on a collection of one hundred poems.
Our club has now been active for ten years and warmly welcomes anyone interested. Even far from Japan, we actively practice this art twice a week, training both body and mind. I can personally confirm that the game is just as exhausting as it looks—but just as exciting as well.
Don’t worry, no knowledge of Japanese is required to play. All you need to do is enjoy the game—we’ll help you through any complications.
Both the game and the club are free, so if you like it, you are welcome to join our training sessions anytime!

VTES was designed in 1994 by Richard Garfield, and it was the third collectible card game ever created, following Magic: The Gathering and Spellfire.
On the fall con, we’ll be there to present this cult classic card game that has been running for over 30 years, where ancient vampire clans clash for power in the Dark Night.

Shogi is a board-based strategy game similar to chess. In Japan, there are 10 million active players, and the game is spreading to more and more places around the world. What makes it unique is that the pieces are never permanently eliminated from the game — right up until the last moment, there is an intense battle to capture the opponent’s king.
Shogi was introduced to Hungary two decades ago, with the first club established in Debrecen, followed later by another in Budapest. By now, the player base has grown large enough for a national championship to be held annually
