Taiko Hungary was founded in 2012 by a handful of enthusiastic individuals who were captivated by the power and unique sound of Japanese drums. Since then, with nearly 300 performances, numerous courses, and workshops behind us, we have become one of Hungary’s leading centers for taiko drumming.
At our association, anyone can try taiko drumming—regardless of age, musical background, or physical ability. Whether at our rehearsal space in Budapest’s Újpest district or with our team in Szeged, our mission is to help as many people as possible discover the rhythm, energy, and community-building spirit of taiko.
Our performances feature both traditional and contemporary pieces, evoking the atmosphere of Japanese festivals, the intensity of battle drums, and the forces of nature through powerful rhythms and dynamic movement.
